The Point Loma Lighthouse is located in San Diego. It is an operational lighthouse although the house itself is a museum. From the lofty peaks of Point Loma, one could see the America's Cup Races when they were held in San Diego a few years ago. |

Actually, this isn't really California, it's Boston Harbor. And this ship is a replica of the HMS Beagle. It was the Beagle that was boarded by a group known as the "Sons of Liberty" in 1773 and had its cargo of tea thrown overboard to protest the imposition of taxes on tea. Of course, this act of civil disobedience became known as the Boston Tea Party and was one of the events that led to the American Revolution. |
