Hawaii Photographs

My work took me and a group of colleagues to the Island of Maui in February for a meeting. The whales were moving down the channel between the islands. So we chartered two boats to go on a whale watch. This picture was taken as we were returning to the harbor at Malakea.

This view is from the top of Mount Haleakala on the Island of Maui. We drove to the top of the mountain in a driving rainstorm, expecting we wouldn't get to see the sunset because of the rain. But just as we reached the top of the mountain, we were suddenly above the clouds and this spectacular sunset was in view.

This is a sunset along South Kehei Road on the island of Maui. These two people were walking along, just enjoying the scene. A sunset on the ocean is an incredible site. The sun literally seems to just fall beneath the horizon very quickly.

This photo was taken from the whale boat as we were going out from the harbor at Malakea
